Coordinator: Prof.dr. Hetty van Emmerik

In current times, social innovation is especially essential in rapidly changing and increasingly demanding organizational environments. Then it is increasingly important to use the right management practices and to maximize the development and use of human resources to improve organizational and human performance.

Within the theme Organization & Culture, the Network Social Innovation focuses on the improvement of organizational and human performance especially by examining how people work together. Hence, we do not only focus on individual employees but also on the team or work group that people work in. For instance, by using team monitoring and team interventions.

An important part of the demanding environment is the context of culture. Whether we think of organizational culture or national culture, culture influences all sorts of organizational processes. Hence, studying social innovation has to take culture influences into account and results of research on social innovation stresses the importance of contextual and cultural interventions.
