Jungbluth, Paul

Paul Jungbluth is a sociologist of education mainly working in research contexts closely related to equal opportunity policies. He was and is involved in evaluations in a wide variety of educational opportunity aspects (minorities, gender, social class, regional variation, segregation) taking various angles and viewpoints (financial resources, organizational quality, teacher expectations, self concepts, hidden curriculum, school effectiveness, multiculturalism, preschool interventions). He was member of Dutch Parliament (‘Green-Left’). Today his research focuses on inequalities in education in the most Southern Province of the Netherlands, where traditional dimensions of deprivation appear to accumulate in categories which were neglected throughout last decades.
